    Juan Manuel Santos is the president of Columbia, member of the Social Party of National Unity which has liberal conservatism as one of its political ideology combining conservative policies with liberal stances, especially on economic and social issues or a brand of political conservatism strongly influenced by liberalism.

    Liberal conservatism incorporates the classical liberal view of minimal government intervention in the economy; individuals should be free to participate in the market and generate wealth without government interference.

    In my mind the one takeaway is adding conservatism as an ingredient to their political structure is what has vastly improved Columbia.
